In this recent session, I got to photograph one of my favorite long-term families again this week — and I can hardly believe it’s been almost 8 years since we first met during their very first maternity session. Since then, we’ve celebrated their babies, birthdays, milestones… and this year they even brought grandparents to join in. It was SO precious and such a sweet way to prepare for the holidays.
We met at Gum Grove in Long Beach, CA, which is one of my favorite tucked-away wooded glen trails. It’s quiet, beautiful, and has an almost storybook feel with tall trees and that golden evening light. I highly recommend this location to any families looking for a natural, woodsy vibe here in Southern California — it photographs like a dream, all year long.
I truly love this family. Watching their children grow, watching them return year after year, and getting to capture their legacy — that’s the BEST part of what I do. Sessions like this remind me why I love being a Long Beach family photographer… it’s a gift to hold time still for people.
